Previous Editions
INSTIL is a workshop series dedicated to exploring ICT-based solutions that enable and support citizen science and public engagement in research.
The workshop has been successfully organized in previous editions of the IEEE eScience conference, bringing together researchers and practitioners working on digital tools, platforms, and participatory approaches.
INSTIL 2023
The first edition of INSTIL introduced the workshop series and was held in conjunction with IEEE eScience 2023 in Limassol, Cyprus.
The workshop gathered contributions on platforms, applications, and serious games supporting citizen engagement, as well as discussions on challenges and lessons learned. It established a community around ICT-enabled citizen science.
INSTIL 2024
The second edition of INSTIL was held in conjunction with IEEE eScience 2024 in Osaka, Japan.
The workshop featured contributions on ICT tools for citizen science, participatory sensing, engagement platforms, and co-design approaches. It included a keynote talk and a technical session focusing on citizen science and technologies.
